Case Study: What Are Some Other Natural Dandruff During Pregnancy Treatments You Should Consider

If you are struggling with dandruff during your pregnancy, you would probably do anyhing to get rid of it, right?

There’s a plethora of misinformation circulating the Internet. We have looked high and low, searching for the answers that women have questions about dry scalp, dandruff and pregnancy.

On the WhatToExpect forums, a cosmetologist said, “First, you need to figure out if you have dandruff or dry scalp because that makes all the difference in the world.” And, the reality is that she’s not making it up. Dry scalp and dandruff are two different entities despite their similarities. For instance, you can treat dandruff with the right shampoo; dry scalp can also be treated with the right dry scalp treatment shampoo.

2 Natural Dandruff During Pregnancy Treatments To Consider

If you’ve been diagnosed with dandruff, it’s possible that treating it naturally will work just as well as a chemical product. Here are two possible ideas to consider using for your dandruff problem:

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a naturally-occurring product that is well-known for its dandruff-fighting capabilities. It may be the go-to method if you want to get rid of dandruff during pregnancy. No chemicals that could injure your unborn child and cause harm to your own health.

Sea Salt

Dandruff is usually the result of dry skin, whether the dry skin is a hormonal imbalance or a lack of proper intake of fluid. If you plan to use sea salt as the method to get rid of dandruff during pregnancy, be sure to use two to three tablespoons of pure sea salt, including it in an oil-infused shampoo. Then, softly exfoliate your scalp before you moisturize it.

Do You Suffer From Dry Scalp In Pregnancy?

The Natural Pregnancy Book author Dr. Aviva Jill Romm said dry skin is a common problem in pregnancy because there is a decrease in bowel functions that makes the skin work harder to excrete the toxins. Itching has been linked to stress or poor diet, which can lead to itchy skin or dry scalp. 20 percent of all pregnancies have a problem with localized itching such as dry scalp.

If you suffer from dry scalp, consider what your fluid intake is. If you’re not drinking enough, dry scalp is more likely to occur. Be sure to consume copious amounts of water to combat this problem.

Dry scalp also occurs when there are not enough fatty substances in that area. And, the only surefire way to get rid of dandruff during pregnancy is to use a dry scalp treatment product and use natural oils on your hair and scalp on a daily basis.

Don’t be afraid because many women have similar problems. It can be related to the shampoos you are using (maybe start using a Sulfate-Free Shampoo), but in most cases it has something to do to with your body’s defense mechanism.

Most of the women during pregnancy lose their vitamin balance so it can have something to do with dandruff appearing out of nowhere, especially if you are a dark haired woman. If dandruff during pregnancy gives you problems you should really think first about using a new type of shampoo.

For example, people say that even Head & Shoulders is super fast when it comes to making your problem disappear. What are your results with it? Some women say that dandruff can be the result of tied hair right after you wash it.

I am not really certain about the reasons for this change on your skin, but you should listen to the stories you hear and think about all the ways you can stop causing dandruff to appear.

If dandruff during pregnancy becomes a problem, you should  consider it a result of pregnancy, simply because there are many symptoms which follow pregnancy and dandruff is just one of them.

Treat your skin more than once a week and you can stop dandruff. When it becomes serious you should not give up on finding the solution for dandruff during pregnancy.
